ARMOURED TOURNAMENT

The armoured tournament showcases combat by fighters in the heavy armour of the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries. The weapons are restricted to pole weapons only, and fighters will be expected to compete without shields, using their armour as protection from blows.

The Armoured competition is a heavy tournament, fought in full plate armour and with metal helmets to protect the head. Armoured Knights from all over New Zealand will be pitted against one another until there is one clear winner. That fighter will be awarded the prize for Armoured Champion, 2009.
