New for the 2010 event, we present the Combined Arms Melee.

The combined arms melee features the use of both infantry and cavalry on one field. It is run as a flag battle, similar to the Grand Melee, but with smaller teams; and, of course, horses.
A small, dedicated group of fighters, known as the "Rabble", have spent the last two years in practise to ensure that this event can be performed safely and with skill. The results of this long dedication can be seen in the main arena once each day of the Taupo Tournament.
The Combined Arms Combat demonstrations will showcase the use of historical weaponry and tactics in scenario demonstrations of Horse Archery, Lancing, mounted combat and infantry vs cavalry action.
